Bitcoin is getting more and more famous as many companies accept purchases using this cryptocurrency. Even the Oakland Athletics baseball team also accepted purchases using Bitcoin.
Quoting CNBC, Friday (19/3/2021), President of Oakland Athletics David Kaval said that his party was selling access to luxury suites for A’s matches using Bitcoin. It is a company promotion that is valid until April 1.
‘I think we might do a transaction today or tomorrow to see the first transaction,’ said Kaval.
This week Oakland Athletics provides ten access suites for purchases using bitcoin. Bitcoin itself rose 1.1% on Thursday afternoon trade to a level of over $59,000.
Viewers can pay one bitcoin in exchange for a luxury suite for one Major League Baseball (MLB) 2021 season. Access suites usually sell for $64,000 for one year. By using Bitcoin, viewers can get a discount.
Although A’s was the first MLB team to experiment with Bitcoin to sell suites, other pro sports teams such as the Sacramento Kings of the National Basketball Association have also offered to purchase their merchandise using digital currency. The Kings started accepting Bitcoin in 2014.
‘We think this is a good way to test the market to see if there really is interest in transacting in cryptocurrency. We feel the suite access to A’s games for the entire season is a great step to start with,’ said Kaval.
